Question:

What file types can be imported into Allscripts Document Management (ADM)?

Answer:

A variety of document types can be imported into ADM (e.g. .doc, .pdf, .TIF).

*It is important to remember, though, that only TIF documents can be viewed from within Enterprise EHR.

If you use the IEX Import Service to auto-import documents into a specific folder in the patient chart, IEX will "Auto-TIF" the document when it is filed, thereby making the document viewable from within Enterprise EHR.

*The Auto-TIF feature does not work if IEX is used to import the document to the Batch Basket.
