The Map Designer
• The Map Builder creates mappings from one format to another.
• These formats may be any EDI Message Designer format or XML schemas or DTD’s including W3C schemas such as HL7 v3. Keep in mind that each mapping definition (*.mdf) will only map one message type to another, not every message type in an *.s3d.
• You can access the Map Designer in:
- - the Start menu
- - the IDE under the Tools tab and in the toolbar.

- - You can also open an. *.s3d definition from the IDE by right clicking the definition in the File Manager.
