A Smoke Test is a test to verify functionality of an implemented or upgraded program or component of a program.
A Smoke test for an Upgrade (of Allscripts Enterprise EHR / Touchworks) consists of following a smoke test plan that takes a user through all of the menu screens and functionality aspects of the program in order to ensure that the upgrade/installation was completed successfully and that basic functionality has been established.
