Q&A
Q: When you were showing product documentation, it was showing the version. How do find how out how the version relates the version of SSMT or CMT? What product documentation do I look at?
A: The manuals are generic and the information in them is relevant regardless of version. The ‘Resolved Issues’ and ‘Known Issues’ documentation are relevant to the version, but the manuals have pretty much stayed the same.
Q: To default orders for a specific RPL for a specific site, I was going to use ‘OID – Order Defaults – Req Perf Location / Site’. For the RPL column, do I extract the performing location and use the entry name?
A: I believe it’s entry name. I usually take an extract, so I can see what’s in the system. This change you can make in the application. I would tie one orderable item to the requesting performing location in the application, and then take an extract of that change. Based on how the item looks in the extract, you could make that change in the SSMT extracts to apply that change to other sites.
Q: Do you guys plan on doing a deeper dive of SSMT and CMT?

Q: We are beginning to add our LOINC codes. Is there a best way to do that? Outside of just doing a pull of the orderable items, is there a better/more efficient way of doing it?
A: LOINC codes should be pulled and loaded into your resultable items, not your orderable items. There are scenarios where they need to be tied to the orderable items, but really they’re tied to your resultable items. Pull your ‘RID – Resultable Item’ dictionary, then filter the ‘LOINCCode’ column and sort to see which LOINC codes are populated. In your case, maybe you did LOINCs for MU1. Take whatever your top priority items are and update those based on the LOINC information you collect from your lab vendor. Then reload them back in.
