Q: Does the Dispense Sample action create a task?
When a provider selects Dispense Sample as the communication method in the medication dialog box, this created a Dispense Sample Task for the clinical staff.
The certified workflow for this action is as follows
- Provider selects dispense sample, fills in the appropriate sig information, clicks ok
- The Provider is required to respond to any DUR warnings that come up.
- The provider changes the patient status to Orders Pending' on the floating clinical toolbar to inidicate to clinical staff that a sample needs to be dispensed.
- Clinical Staff select the task list menu
- Clinical Staff select the view that looks at all tasks for the current patient encounter
- Double click on the Dispense Sample task
- After dispensing the medication click ok
