Performing an assessment of the legacy system(s) before embarking on a data migration project may not always be a part of the project plans, but an assessment is extremely valuable in refining the scope of the project, as well as setting up the project for success.

Please join us to review how taking the time to perform a thorough assessment of your legacy data may benefit your organization, both in the short-term and long-term, in helping to address the different nuances of multiple systems.

Q & A

Question: What exactly are the deliverables we would get from such as assessment?

Answer: As we mentioned in the presentation, the main deliverable is a written report that contains all of our findings, our analysis, and our recommendations. When we present this report, we typically schedule a follow-up meeting to review the details, explain how we arrived at our recommendations, and answer any questions.

Question: What does the pricing structure look like for an assessment?

Answer: Each assessment is unique due to a couple factors - the legacy system, the potential scope of the migration project, and the client's goals. Therefore, the pricing is going to vary, but we would be happy to discuss this with you in more detail to give you a sense of estimated cost.

Question: How much time should I allocate for a data assessment?

Answer: This will depend on the details of the assessment - how many systems are being assessed, what size are those system, what are the goals of the assessment - but typically I would estimate about 6 weeks, plus or minus depending on the assessment variables.

Question: Does Galen offer other types of assessments?

Answer: In addition to data migration assessments, Galen offers assessments for EHR optimizations, PCMH, Payment Reform, and Operations (to name a few).
