A free text field can be placed in the template as a placeholder for discrete values or a fill in the blank. This gives the user an opportunity to click on the bracket (which will highlight it) and essentially replace it with whatever is manually typed or dictated usingDragon.
Example: This is a [ ] 42 year old male who comes in today complaining of [ ].
Tip: The Tab key can be used as a shortcut to cycle through empty brackets.
