SpeechMike

For dictation and voice recognition, Allscripts recommends the Philips SpeechMike.

There are a number of different models available, so it is essential to verify your model is supported before purchasing. The SpeechMikes work very well with Dragon as well (as of 11.2) and if your organization offers the option of dictation through Enterprise EHR as well as Dragon then you can use the one device for both purposes.

It is recommended to install the device drivers so that the buttons on the SpeechMike can function similar the users mouse. There are known issues with some of the button functions but are reported fixed in 11.2.
